David D. Hopkins has held roles as a soldier, stockbroker, hotel manager, and academic dean, to name just a few. However, most of his professional career has been spent in higher education in public and private colleges. Currently, he works in the state college system of Florida as a Professor of Humanities.

Currently, his two most passionate academic topics are critical thinking and analysis of wisdom texts. However, he has spent extensive time studying, teaching, and researching archetypal criticism and philosophy.
